The Bunchionary: Now Music Enabled

The Bunchionary is pleased to announce that it is now music-enabled, taking this blog from 2001 all of the way to 2006.

The Bunchionary Staff is pleased that its years of study have allowed us to make this technological upgrade.

Look for other features in the future.

Ahhh.... Summer

As of Monday, it is officially Summer. Yes, the Bunchionary realizes that the calendar, Druids and weathermen all disagree, but if Bobby Flay says its the start of summer, it is the start of summer. And that means the return of The Bunchionary. So to ourselves, in a nod to self indulgence, we say "welcome back".

Flagophile Recount?

The Bunchionary has found itself in a quandry when it found that its first (and to date, only) Flagophile Winner, Neil Diamond, has contributed to torture of terror suspects. The right side of the Bunchionary would like to commend him for his act of patriotism, while the left side of the Bunchionary would like to commend him for his hair.

Thankfully, this is an isolated incident, although this calls into question any future honors being bestowed upon Barney.

Super Tuesday Extravaganza!!!

The Bunchionary prides itself on itself on its political coverage, and by committing itself to buy a copy of tomorrow's Los Angeles Times, will in so doing spend more on political coverage than LA's paper of record (if you discount LA Weekly).

That is why the Bunchionary is proud to bring you the following: a list of United States Presidents by intrinsic comedy value. You may ask why the Bunchionary would break one of its central tenents and actually discuss politics, but as long as we keep the discussion centered around presidents who have been out of office for more than fifty years we can avoid scorched earth politics and instead discuss how funny William Howard Taft remains almost one hundred years later.

How funny is Taft?

Taft once sent a telegram to Washington, D.C. that read, "Went on a horse ride today; feeling good;" Secretary of War Elihu Root replied, "How's the horse?"

Don't forget to vote.

Breakin'

The Bunchionary Staff fondly remembers the 1980s. It was a period of energy and optimism. Such was the feeling that serious people believed that gang turf wars might actually be resolved by breakdance competitions. (Seriously: see here and here).

And while we would never say the movement has done passed us by, we still savor the music of that more innocent time when the freeze, the worm and the 6-step were seen as viable alternatives to 9 mms, switchblades and old fashioned beatings.

In recognition of this, The Bunchionary is pleased to celebrate breakdancing throughout the month of June, in what we like to call "Breaakdancin' Awareness Month: The Electric Boogaloo." In honor of this, The Bunchionary is honored to bring you its two most favorite breakin' tunes: "There's No Stopping Us" and "Buffalo Gals."
